The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded defenseman Jamie Oleksiak back to the Dallas Stars.

The Penguins will receive a fourth-round pick in 2019.

The Stars had traded Oleksiak to the Penguins last season, also for a fourth-round pick.

The Minnesota Wild have acquired center Victor Rask from the Carolina Hurricanes for left wing Nino Niederreiter, in a swap of underperforming but still young players on long-term contracts.

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired defenseman Michael Del Zotto from the Vancouver Canucks for defenseman Luke Schenn and a 2020 seventh-round draft pick.

The teams announced the trade Wednesday night. Del Zotto, 28, had a goal and three assists with the Canucks this season and has 54 goals and 161 assists in 10 NHL seasons.

Two NHL teams seeking a jolt to their middling seasons swapped players on Monday, as the Dallas Stars acquired veteran forward Andrew Cogliano from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Devin Shore.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired defenseman Jan Rutta in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks.

NHL-leading Tampa Bay also got a 2019 seventh-round draft pick from Chicago in exchange for defenseman Slater Koekkoek and a fifth-round selection in this year's draft.

The 28-year-old Rutta had 2 goals and 4 assists in 23 games with the Blackhawks this season. He also has spent time in the minors.

The Maple Leafs announced today that the club has acquired forward Gabriel Gagne from Ottawa in exchange for forward Morgan Klimchuk. 

Gagne, 22, has appeared in 33 games with the Belleville Senators (AHL) during the 2018-19 season and has recorded four goals and five assists for nine points. In 142 career AHL games, the Laval, Quebec native has registered 40 points (26 goals, 14 assists) and 62 penalty minutes. Prior to playing in the AHL, Gagne skated in 177 games in the QMJHL split between Victoriaville (143 games) and Shawinigan (34 games), where he recorded 68 goals and 64 assists for 132 points.

Gagne was originally selected by the Senators in the second round (36th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.

The St. Louis Blues acquired goalie Jared Coreau from the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday for future considerations.

Coreau will report to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
